One of the most fabled guitar shows returns next month for a three-day run of guitars, guitars, and more guitars. The 30th Annual Dallas International Guitar Festival, the world’s largest and longest-running festival of its kind will be held April 20, 21 and 22, 2007, at Dallas Market Hall. This year as it celebrates it's 30th anniversary, it offers a very special exhibit for the attendees, dealers, stars, and collectors who come in from around the world will take in the the never-before-seen Holy Grail Guitar Exhibition sponsored by PRS Guitars.

Paul Reed Smith said about the Holy Grail Guitar Exhibition, "This could quite possibly be the best assemblage of vintage instruments, vintage amplifiers and the associated historical archives of the vintage musical instrument business. When you consider that the first electric guitar ever made by Lloyd Loar, the first amp ever built by Marshall, the “Blackie” Clapton Strat, the first Tune-A-Matic bridge built, many of the original early electric guitar patents...the list goes on and on... will be in one room on display at one time only once in our lifetime, this event takes on historical significance. If you enjoy the electric guitar, the acoustic guitar, amplifiers, the history of the vintage guitar world or any of the music that comes from these instruments, this Holy Grail exhibit at the 30th Annual Dallas International Guitar Festival should not be missed."

Montreal, Monday, February 12, 2007 – true aficionados of acoustic, classical, archtop and manouche guitars will be treated this summer with the 1st Montreal Guitar Show, an event devoted to instruments crafted by an exceptional breed of luthiers from July 6 to 8, as part of the Montreal Musician and Musical Instrument Show (MMMIS) and the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal. It will be the biggest guitar show in Canada.

The event is dedicated exclusively to handcrafted guitars and will showcase the masterpieces of several of the world’s greatest luthiers. Given last year’s success of the guitar luthier segment of the MMMIS, this year the MMMIS and the Festival decided to get involved in promoting these artists-artisans. Guitarists will have a unique opportunity to see, touch, try out, and even purchase the instruments at the event.

Guitarists will have a chance to meet luthiers from Quebec, the rest of Canada, the United States, South America and Europe, including the true crème de la crème and young, upcoming stars. Names such as Mario Beauregard, Bill Comins, Rick Davis, Sergei de Jonge, Charles Fox, Oskar Graf, Michael Greenfield, Peter Hopkins, Michael Lewis, John Monteleone, Tom Ribbecke, Jean Rompré, Ervin Somogyi and others come to mind.

Organizers will be going all out to ensure a fantastic experience for guitar lovers. For example, the Montreal Guitar Show will be setting up private studios to provide optimal conditions for trying out instruments. The MGS will also be offering a series of meeting sessions and free workshops on the luthier’s art and the art of guitar playing.

The event runs from July 6 to 8, 2007, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Montreal.
