London's famous Dockland area has been revamped, with many historic warehouses now luxury hotels and apartments, the River Thames plays host to a flotilla of rowers, it's easy to picture the idyllic setting, oh...and an advancing army of over 23,000 musicians and trade visitors to the first London International Music Show. The four day event, incorporated the already successful London Guitar show and Drummer Live and includes the include the Unplugged and Sound Technology shows under one roof at the ExCel complex.

fender_university.jpgSCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - (May 8, 2008) - Fender Musical Instruments Corporation is launching Fender University, an exclusive new music education program for guitar enthusiasts worldwide, it was announced today. The inaugural session will take place Aug. 21 - 24, 2008 and will offer exclusive, behind-the-scenes access to the company's manufacturing headquarters and world renowned Fender Custom Shop in Corona, Calif. The curriculum will also include a series of music workshops, hands-on education experiences, performance opportunities, special guest appearances and insight on everything musicians needs to know about the magic of Fender.

This year marked the 31st annual Dallas International Guitar Festival. The three-day event on April18, 19, and 20 at Dallas Market Hall was filled with guitar enthusiasts, artists, dealers, and MI companies. The exhibitors included Taylor, Fender, Gretsch, Paul Reed Smith, Peavey, Gibson, D'Addario, as well as 800 other guitar manufacturers, and independent dealers displaying new guitars, vintage, custom, and collector's editions. The show is a very manageable event, easy to get around, while offering so much for the guitar player's musical senses.

Coming this year will be one other than the guitar God himself, Joe Satriani playing live at the London Guitar show. Combine that with performances from Paul Gilbert, Billy Sheehan and the premier live performance of "C3" featuring undisputed guitar greats Richie Kotzen, Guthrie Govan and Greg Howe and you've got a guitar show you can't miss.

Performing as the Daryl Stuermer Duo, he will be accompanied by keyboardist Konstantin Efimov during the clinics and will also be giving attendees his perspective on playing live, recording, technique, and his gear, by fielding a Q&A session after each performance.
