Here it is...four days later and another NAMM has flown by. I averaged about four hours of sleep per night; that coupled with the whole jet-lag thing really wore me out. However, it's all worth it because once again NAMM delivers.

As a musician, I left Anaheim more inspired than ever. In addition, NAMM really helps GuitarJam Daily move forward. I met a lot of great artists for future interviews as well as other individuals who will be joining the GJD team. Stay tuned!

Another NAMM Show has come and gone. Just like a storm that comes in like lion and exits like a lamb, the halls of the Anaheim Convention Center was hit with a force of 80,000 attendees from music manufacturers, press, musicians, retailers, members, and visitors over four days. They came. They saw. They played. They Partied.

This year's show showcased 1,559 exhibiting companies that set an all-time record for the four-day gathering at NAMM. Even though the final attendance numbers have not been released yet, according to the NAMM execs the overall pre-show registration numbers of retail buyers and various industry members projected a solid attendance versus last year's attendance that reached a record-breaking 84,695.

GJD readers will want to strap in and enjoy the ride for the next week or so. This year's Winter NAMM show promises to be very exciting. The show opened today in typical whirlwind fashion. The huge Anaheim Convention Center was bulging at the seams, with nearly 89,000 attendees and almost 1600 vendors.

The first day of a NAMM show is always overwhelming. I normally spend a few hours walking through the entire convention (a couple miles of walking) to get a lay of the land and a first impression of where I want to focus. It's also a good way to get an idea of what's new this year.
