LA Amp Show Adds Vintage Sunday PDF Print E-mail

ampshow.jpgThe fourth Annual LA Amp Show will be two days for the first time. As in previous years, there will be the popular "Tone Wizards" seminars and over 60 companies representing state of the art and boutique new amps, effects, guitars and bass products. The "Pedalboard From Hell" will once again be available for all to enjoy, with over 35 of the greatest effects at your feet. A special feature of this years show will be the inclusion of a pre-1970 amplifier area on Sunday only called the Vintage Amp Exchange Day. Collectors are invited to display classic; Fender, Marshall, Vox, Gibson, etc. amps from the "Golden Era".

London's famous Dockland area has been revamped, with many historic warehouses now luxury hotels and apartments, the River Thames plays host to a flotilla of rowers, it's easy to picture the idyllic setting, oh...and an advancing army of over 23,000 musicians and trade visitors to the first London International Music Show. The four day event, incorporated the already successful London Guitar show and Drummer Live and includes the include the Unplugged and Sound Technology shows under one roof at the ExCel complex.

Carr Amplifiers Introduces the Raleigh: Popular boutique amp ace Steve Carr was showing off is new model called the Raleigh. It is a compact combo, 3 watt model that packs eye-widening tone and plenty of gain. We got a chance to take the Raleigh for a test drive and it was very impressive indeed for such a small package, producing classic blackface tones to thick, sustained overdrive. This is a great amp for anyone who wants an awesome sounding practice amp or a small amp for the studio. The features are as follows:

    Having performed in studio and toured the world with both Phil Collins and supergroup Genesis for years, Daryl is a player who is on top of his game and has the chops to prove it. Performing as the Daryl Stuermer Duo, he will be accompanied by keyboardist Konstantin Efimov during the clinics and will also be giving attendees his perspective on playing live, recording, technique, and his gear, by fielding a Q&A session after each performance.
