In Part 2 of Behind the Scenes, we sit down with Fred Taccone of Divided by 13 Amplifiers. Ken Volpe and Fred discuss how he goes about creating a new design and the need for it. They also talk about what it took fro him to become a success. Fred reveals that it has been many years of 14 hour days and how the success is a result of his passion and dedication to keep going forward.

In Session 2 of our Artist Interview, GJD's Ken Volpe sits down with guitar legend Frank Marino. He answers Ken's question. about how an artist obtains true originality and why does that does not exist as much these days. Frank also talks about his approach and philosophy of playing the guitar. He believes that for himself, that using tablature or practicing would cut him off from his own creative process and how he came to that realization.

In Part 1 of Behind the Scenes, we sit down with Jason Lollar of LollarGuitars.com. Ken and Jason discuss his early experiences as a full-time gigging musician and his many guitar influences. He also tells Ken how he grew up in an environment that encouraged him to work with his hands. Jason explains how his custom pickup business came about. He actually started out as a guitar maker and that soon led to him making custom pickups.

In Part 1 of our Artist Interview, GJD's Clif Taylor raps with guitar great Alvin Youngblood Hart. They discuss his recent tour schedule and how the life of a musician has been changed by Youtube and the Web. Alvin also talks about working with different producers and how a good one allows an artist to be himself. Clif mentions how he hears many influences on Alvin's "Motivation Speaker" Cd and they discuss how that was a result of making a self produced project.

They discuss his early days as a 19-year old session player and how that led to the formation of Toto. Steve also talks about the advantage of being a schooled musician that learned to read music at a young age. Ken asks Steve about his life long friend guitarist Mike Landau and about the possibility of them maybe doing a project in the future. At the end Luke talks about the struggles of being on the road with Toto and how he is now getting ready to go on the road with his new band to promote his new solo Cd, Ever Changing Times.

In addition, Johnny speaks about being a playing by ear player as compared to a book smart type player.
