Washburn Guitars announces the release of two new Scott Ian signature series guitars for 2008. The Anthrax guitarist is considered the king of ferocious rhythms in Metal. One of the most visible proponents of Metal, Scott is valued for his ideas and opinions and has hosted The Rock Show on VH1, appeared on VH1's I Love The 70's/80's/90's, Heavy: The Story of Metal, and SuperGroup. Scott's influence extends beyond Metal making him a well respected musician and a worthy subject for Washburn's Signature Series.
The WV540VASI and WV40VASI join other Ian series guitars, the SI60MW and SI61G. They are made from solid mahogany with Ian's signature Blood Red graphics and feature a Mahogany/Set neck and the Buzz Feiten® Tuning System.

The WV540VASI is built in the Washburn USA Custom Shop and features a carbon glass epoxy composite fretboard, an Original Floyd Rose® bridge, Sperzel® tuners and Seymour Duncan® pickups. Periodically, Scott stops by the Washburn facility outside Chicago to hand splatter each guitar himself. It will retail for $2,699.90.

The WV40VASI comes with a Rosewood fretboard, Grover® Exclusive tuners, Randall® pickups and a Licensed Floyd Rose® bridge. It will retail for $1,249.90.
