In honor of the legendary guitar makers’ 175th anniversary, the sale will include 49 guitars and majority of them limited edition prototype guitars culled from the vault of Martin Guitar, and have never been offered to the public. Embraced by artists all over the world, these guitars have helped define every musical genre, from country and blues to rock and roll. The sale will pay tribute to this great musical tradition with all proceeds benefiting The Martin Guitar Charitable Foundation.

The artistry and craftsmanship of the Martin brand are without equal,” said Kerry Keane, Head of Musical Instruments at Christie’s. “Christie’s is excited to offer a remarkable collection and to support the ongoing work of the Martin Guitar Charitable Foundation.”

Godin Guitars once again presents this years Montreal Guitar Grand Prix. In its 3rd year, this free event is open to guitarists of all ages and takes place on September 27th & 28th 2008.

The SIMM (Montreal Musical Instrument Show), whose mission it is to encourage music making among the masses, established the Montreal Guitar Grand Prix to promote and develop the talents of local guitarists and allow them to showcase their musical ability on stage in front of a live public audience.

John 5 Postpones Clinic Tour PDF Print E-mail

Hollywood, CA – Guitarist John 5 has postponed his current clinic tour slated to start in Orlando, FL due to shoulder injury. The injury was caused during a bike outing, hitting an unknown object and being thrown from the bike. He is expected to heal and have a fast recovery with physical therapy to insure he does not lose his magic touch. “I am sorry to all that were coming for the performance, but I will make it up and announce new dates soon,” states John 5.

Parker Teams Up with National Guitar Workshop at The Rock Summits PDF Print E-mail

This summer, Parker teamed up with the National Guitar Workshop at their annual Rock Summits. Parker donated an assortment of import and USA made guitars for the Rock Summit Shred-Off Competitions. Some models included the Parker Fly Classic and the Parker P42.

The Rock Summit’s Shred-Off Competition had expanded to the Los Angeles, New Milford, Seattle, and McLean campuses with the help of Parker. The winner of the Shred-Off Competition received a brand new Parker. Rock Summit students were judged on technique, originality, tone, and stage performance. The winner was presented by Parker endorsers, Dave Martone and James Hogan with a Parker guitar.
