Six Strings Down: Jack Nau of EMG PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 28 February 2007 20:25

Press Release
On Sunday 18th February, EMG Vice President of Marketing, Jack Nau (pictured on right), suffered a fatal heart attack while playing live onstage with his son's band. At the age of 56, the musician and father of three continued to champion the instrument he was so passionate about, something he passed on to his children.

A man who always offered encouragement to any up and coming bands he met, talked to and constantly hung out with, Nau will be remembered by scores of musicians he mentored in their formative years when chart success still eluded them. Jack is survived by sons Sebastian and Marshall, daughter Alison, Karen, the mother of his three children; along with his own mother, Lois Gylock.

Said EMG President, Rob Turner, "Jack brought a lot of personality to this company and he will be sorely missed by the many people he came into contact with during the 10 years he spent at EMG. Naturally, I'm hugely saddened by this turn of events and at this time my thoughts and those of the other members of staff are with his family."

The Eddie and David Lee and Show is Over (again) PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 28 February 2007 20:23

O.K., so who didn't see this clash of the ego titans coming to a sudden death? The Van Halen reunion tour was over before it even began. The troubles between Eddie Van Halen and David Lee Roth have proven just too deep to keep the fabled tour off of a crash course. According to the L.A. Times, Live Nation, the shows promoter has cancelled all of the tour dates.

David Lee Roth gave a partial answer to the question of "what happened?" Roth said, "We have fragile politics in Van Halen." Eddie Van Halen so far has declined interviews through his publicist Janie Liszewski.

Next month, the group will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the plan was to follow that with a summer reunion tour that would feature David Lee Roth back in front for the first time since 1984. At this point it's unknown if the Van Halen brothers will even show up for the event on March 12 in New York City.

"I cannot tell you how frustrating and completely nuts this has been," said one person close to the reunion tour.
