Fretless guitarist the world over have reason to rejoice this time of year, as it’s time for the NYC Fretless Guitar Festival, and Godin Guitars is once again proud to be a sponsor of the event held on September 20th and 21st, 2008 in New York City.

Created in 2005 by avid fretless guitarist Michael Vick, who says; “The future of guitar is missing something...frets!” Vick further explains that the NYC Fretless Guitar Festival first began as a way to celebrate the release of the definitive fretless guitar double CD “Village of the Unfretted” (Unfretted Records). It was also created to develop itself into an annual event, with the long-term goal of promoting fretless artists and instrument makers from around the globe. Some of this years line-up includes: Adrian Romero, Michelle Webb, Elliot Sharp, Michael Vick, Jim Goodin, Gary Corcoran, King B & Queen B, VVVick w/ Morphius 9C and many more...

The Godin Guitar family is no stranger to fretless instruments. The Canadian based manufacturer features several renowned fretless models in their line-up, including the Multiac Nylon Fretless SA and the A-series semi-acoustic, synth access basses available in fretless 4 & 5 string models. As a sponsor of this festival, Godin Guitars will also be donating a Godin A11 Glissentar. This 11-string fretless wonder will be up for grabs at the end of the two-day festival.
